Charles Paddock Zoo

Charles Paddock Zoo in Atascadero, California is the only zoo in San Luis Obispo county.

When you walk through the entrance of the zoo, you'll immediately find the pretty pink flamingos to your left!

It's a small zoo but for only $10 per adult and $5 per child for ages 3 to 4, it's really worth it. The kids will still be entertained (See Lemurs below from Charles Paddock Zoo). Prices for children ages 5 to 12 are $8 each and children 2 and under are free.

If you plan on going to this zoo more than twice a year with your family, it's really a better deal to get an annual Family Membership. Family Membership is only $60 and includes 2 named adults and 4 dependent children. If you're a Military/Veteran Family, it's only $50 and includes 2 named adults and 4 dependent children for the entire year.

Our favorite animals to watch were the cute red pandas! They are new to the zoo for 2019 and look so happy and healthy here.

I think it only took us about an hour to go through the whole park. They don't sell food inside so don't plan on buying food at the Charles Paddock Zoo. After you're done, you'll find the playground right outside of Charles Paddock Zoo called the Atascadero Lake Park.

You can rent paddle boats here and sometimes they have really big seasonal events for the public.
