Earlier this week in Pismo Beach, we stumbled on thousands of Velella, also known as By-the-Wind Sailor. They are so magnificent and beautiful. They're tiny and look like they have a sail on them.

Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark Birthday Weekend Getaway Review in Southern California

We drove 4 hours south to Orange County in Southern California to do a Great Wolf Lodge Getaway for our son's birthday celebration this month! Instead of having a party, we decided to take a road trip and spend the weekend at their kid-friendly waterpark. Great Wolf Lodge has an indoor waterpark with slides, toddler area, lazy river and more. It's a perfect place for kids who want to play in the water during wintery weather. I called Madonna Inn this morning as I'm so excited about our upcoming and second Madonna Inn staycation! We've only stayed at the Madonna Inn once before at the room named San Francisco, Room #121. Things To Do in Oceano, California - Pismo State Park - San Luis Obispo County

Oceano is a quieter beach town than neighboring Grover Beach and Pismo Beach but it is still part of Pismo State Beach and visitors are catching on to the this little gem in San Luis Obispo County. It is actually where the famous Dunes are located but many visitors would often mistakenly think they're still in Pismo Beach, when in fact, the Oceano Dunes are located well, in Oceano, California.

Avila Beach Hotels & Things To Do

Avila Beach is located in San Luis Obispo County on the Central Coast of California. It's a small beach town with a 3 different piers (click here to see pictures of the piers), which is a lot for a small beach town. With less than a handful hotels in the area, this makes it a quieter traveling spot but still very beautiful. The locals like to keep it a secret but nowadays, a lot of tourists have discovered it and it can get very hard to find parking during the summer weekends!

LEGOLAND California and SEA LIFE Aquarium Adventure in Carlsbad Review

This past Monday, we took our sons on a grand adventure to LEGOLAND California and SEA LIFE Aquarium in Carlsbad, California (San Diego)!

The weather was perfect and the kids had a blast! My sons are 5 and 2 years old. Because my younger son is still just 2, he got in for free at both LEGOLAND California and SEA LIFE Aquarium.
