Solvang Visit as a Family

Posted by SanLuisObispoMom.com on Thursday, February 28, 2019, In : Wineries
We visited Solvang, a fun one-of-a-kind Danish town in California, this past weekend and to me, it was bustling with tourists, visitors and dogs! Apparently, this is a slow season for them. I can't imagine how the summer would look like. (Note: All photos Pinterest photos below were taken by SanLuisObispoMom.com.)

It is impossible to walk around downtown Solvang and not get tempted to buy a pastry at one of the many Danish bakeries. The combination of the smell of the freshly baked goods, the...

Grover Beach: Ride your car onto the beach or walk it!

Posted by SanLuisObispoMom.com on Monday, February 25, 2019,
On the Central Coast of California, in the county of San Luis Obispo, is a small beach called Grover Beach. It's part of the Pismo State Beach area but there is only one entrance in, through Grand Avenue. West Coast, at its finest, you can ride your vehicle onto the beach here if you drive right on through the toll (for a small fee). If you would like to go onto the beach by foot, you can do that too! In the parking lot of Fi...

Posted by SanLuisObispoMom.com on Wednesday, February 20, 2019,
On President's Day, we decided to make a trip to San Simeon to visit Hearst Castle for the very first time. Located in San Luis Obispo County, San Simeon is what I call a slice of heaven. It is not densely populated, right by the coast and full of amazing scenery.

HEARST CASTLE
My boys, 2 and 5 years old, really loved the bus ride up to the castle. When you book a tour at the visitors center, you have to get up to the mountains by bus from the center (inclusive). The higher you climb, the more...

Valentine's Day at Copper Cafe in Madonna Inn

Posted by SanLuisObispoMom.com on Friday, February 15, 2019,
Last night was my first time dining at Copper Cafe, inside of Madonna Inn. We pass by Madonna Inn often on the 101 highway and also wondered when we'll get a chance to visit there. What better occasion to dine at the restaurant there than on Valentine's Day, my husband thought.

Food is amazing! Service can be questionable with speed. The ambiance is perfect for special occasions! It's unique, warm and hearty. They also have the steakhouse called Goldrush Steak House with an amazing high ceili...

Frustration with Ventana Health in Pismo Beach

Posted by SanLuisObispoMom.com on Thursday, February 14, 2019,
I'm so frustrated with Ventana Health in Pismo Beach and I haven't even been seen yet! I was supposed to have an appointment yesterday on Feb. 13th at 10:30AM. They called the day before to confirm my appointment and asked me to come 30 minutes early to fill out some paperwork, even though I had already told them that I had already mailed it back to their office. I arrived around 9:55AM with 2 little ones in tow and the receptionist told me, my "doctor" is out sick and that someone had called...
