Extreme Wild Wings Review

October 28, 2025

Where French Fries used to be, Extreme Wild Wings took over. The arcades are gone but what replaced that place is more seating, a lot of TVs, and sports banners. This is truly a sports fan dream.

Wings Review at Extreme Wild Wings

The atmosphere is open, but what will make me come back here are the flavors and quality of the wings. We ordered 40 wings and got 4 different flavors! They were all good and the size is great!

I wish the wings came with carrots and celery, but that's just a minor thing. We could order them as sides. There is also a couple selections for kids as well.

As a Chargers fan, I appreciated the banner on the wall and also a poster with all of the NFL game schedule. They also did that for 49ers fans and Rams fans. The Chargers won the night that we dined there so that was extra special!

Santee Lakes Party Reservation Review

October 20, 2025

For my dad's 70th birthday celebration, we decided to have a party at Picnic Spot N at Santee Lakes in San Diego County. This spot is located at Lake #4. With a reservation here, I as able to have this spot from 6AM - 6PM for the day I reserved for.

Santee Lakes Party Reviews and Pictures

I was really impressed with this particular picnic spot (Spot N) because it's on a little island. We crossed a bridge to get the area. I think with my decorations, it immediately wowed the guests coming to the party at this particular spot. It had a peaceful view of the lake and the birds.

Before I arrived, this is how it looked from a distance below. Contrast to the top picture of this blog post, I added and brought my canopy and attached some balloons and really made it look like a popping event! You're allowed to set up your own canopy and attach balloons. I recommend calling the Santee Lakes Customer Service number to double check what's allowed because every spot has different restriction. However, the rule is you must take all your decorations and not release any of them by 6PM (for this particular spot we had to leave by 6PM). You will need to be responsible to cleaning up all the mess as well. I brought my own pop-up canopy and decided on a gold/white theme for the balloons as this was a 70th birthday celebration and my invitation had a gold theme. Loading stuff from the car across the bridge to this spot is manageable. I recommend bringing a rolling wagon cart to transport your supplies from your car to the picnic spot so it could save you many trips from going back and forth.

The capacity for this Picnic Spot N is 25 people. We only had 16 guests at our party so this spot was perfect. We had a party in the middle of October so it was a very hot day! The canopy is an absolute must for comfort, especially for grilling and people hanging out. We ended up adding a smaller second canopy (not pictured) behind the front big canopy. It was a life saver for shade. I also want to recommend getting weights for the legs of the canopy. They're quite heavy but worth loading to bring to the party for the canopy. I bought these exact weights for my canopy and they have been so great for windy days to keep the canopy stable and not fly away!

There are many other spots available at Santee Lakes that has a bigger capacity for very big parties! On their website, they even have spots that allow 200 or even 1,000 people! I can see this being a great option for an outdoor wedding. You can view their Picnic & Parties Spots available on the Santee Lakes' website.

Lavender Farm in San Luis Obispo Review

For the August/September 2025 Issue for SLO LIFE Magazine, I wrote about my visit at Hambly Lavender Farm that's located in San Miguel, California in San Luis Obispo County. Their farm is amazingly beautiful and immaculate!

Opening seasonally in the summer time, you can pick your own lavender and hang out in the elements. View my video reel to see it from my point of view on instagram. I also posted a different edit of my experience on YouTube below. They are closed for the season for summer 2025, but do open their farm for private or special events.

Giuseppe's Italian American Club Pismo Beach Review

September 1, 2025
Giuseppe's Italian American Club Pismo

We dined at the new Giuseppi's Express location in Pismo Beach that's next to the fancier Giuseppi's Restaurant and was impressed. It used to be across the street! It is now renamed to Giuseppe's Italian American Club.

I ordered a pizza while my husband ordered a Spicy Pastrami Sandwich. I felt like my slice of pizza was a better deal. Here is our receipt below.

We sat toward the front near the deli area. However, there is a lounge in the back that gave me Godfather vibes! I was too intimidated to take a picture of that space as there were a handful of patrons there brooding in their corners. However, I did take a picture of the deli fridge in the front, which had a lot of interesting options.

I really feel that this place could give a lot of life to the Sans Liege Wine Tasting Room across the way. The brooding people in the lounge can easily walk across the street to the dark facade of Sans Liege for a fantastic glass of wine. Sans Liege is one of the videos that I included in my wine tasting video collage on my instagram.

For the June/July 2025 Issue of SLO LIFE Magazine, I wrote about Family Day at the SLO Botanical Garden. We mainly hung out at the Children's Garden area. You can read more about our adventure on page 68-69 in the archive.

SLO Botanical Garden Review

Family Day at the San Luis Obispo (SLO) Botanical Garden is free and happens every month! However, depending on the season, you do have to pay a parking fee per car. The cost is only a few bucks.

Prior to writing about Family Day at SLO Botanical Garden, I have visited the garden several times with my kids. See the video reel of my SLO Botanical Garden visit via my instagram.
