Many people from the Central Coast go north or south on the 101 to explore big cities for vacations. We decided to take a trip to the Bay Area! Without traffic, San Francisco is only a 3.5 hour drive north from San Luis Obispo. With a famous major city this close to SLO, we took advantage of the proximity and went on a family weekend getaway this past weekend to explore San Francisco and the California Academy of Sciences!

Nightstand Before and After Chalk Paint

A new hobby that I picked up after I became a mom is finding old furniture and turning them into newly painted gems. Charles Paddock Zoo in Atascadero Review & Pictures | San Luis Obispo County

Charles Paddock Zoo in Atascadero, California is the only zoo in San Luis Obispo county.

When you walk through the entrance of the zoo, you'll immediately find the pretty pink flamingos to your left!

It's a small zoo but for a small admission, it's really worth it. My favorites are the red pandas!
