Oso Flaco Lake Beach Trail Review and Pictures

Posted by San Luis Obispo Mom on Saturday, September 16, 2023, In : Beaches

At the southern most end of San Luis Obispo County is a beach trail that goes over a lake called Oso Flaco Lake. It has a deck trail that is a mile long, easy to walk on and very scenic.

Oso Flaco Lake Deck Trail

There isn't an exact address you can find to get here but if you Google: "Oso Flake Lake Trail", it will take you there to a parking lot where you can park for free and start your hike. It's about a mile long from beginning to the end where you end up with a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. It's about ...

Carnival Radiance Review

Carnival Cruise Waitlist and Phone Reservation Experience

We were on a last minute plan to go on a cruise earlier this month. There were no rates available left for the 3 Day Carnival Cruise that leaves from Los Angeles (Long Beach, specifically), California within our vacation time frame so my husband decided to call Carnival to see if we could be put on a waitlist. After leaving his contact information, all that we could do was wish for the best and continuously search online every 30 minut...

Navigator of the Seas Family Cruise Review
We went on a family cruise vacation on Navigator of the Seas Ship through Royal Caribbean. It was a 4 night cruise with 2 stops: Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. The port was at Los Angeles so we drove a few hours from San Luis Obispo to Los Angeles and then got on the ship from there. Even though there were some mishaps in the beginning, I ended up having a splendid time on this cruise!

A few jump links below, in case you're looking for specific information and reviews about this Royal...

Mustang Waterpark Review for Families (Water Park in Arroyo Grande)

Posted by San Luis Obispo Mom on Saturday, June 4, 2022, In : Arroyo Grande

We went to the Mustang Waterpark at Lopez Lake in Arroyo Grande right after the pandemic guidelines allowed the water parks to open again! The Mustang Waterpark is usually only open for a few months between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day each year. I actually preferred this waterpark in Arroyo Grande while my kids were little, compared to the Ravine Waterpark in Paso Robles. (See our Ravine Waterpark review here.)

Mustang Waterpark is considerably smaller than Ravine Waterpark, the only ot...

La Quinta Inn in San Luis Obispo Downtown Review and Dinner at 1865 Craft House

Posted by San Luis Obispo Mom on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, In : Hotel
We did a staycation at La Quinta in Downtown San Luis Obispo about a year after the pandemic started.

It was a short 17 hour staycation. Our main motivated was we wanted to be able to use our 1865 Craft House & Kitchen gift card that we've been hoarding and since it's located right next door from the La Quinta Inn in Downtown San Luis Obispo, we decided to have a relaxing tourist experience as locals as well. Since traveling far was not advised during the pandemic, we opted for staycations ins...
